Ep. 39: Golgo 13 eliminates a crime syndicate leader using an artist's apartment as a sniper perch.

Golgo 13 accepts a contract to assassinate Hewitt, the second-in-command of a criminal organization, following the accidental death of its leader. Intelligence suggests Hewitt caused the death and is paranoid about his predecessor’s hidden gold bullion. The target’s security detail and the bank’s location initially seem to prevent a successful shot. Golgo 13 approaches Ash, a struggling artist living alone in an apartment block opposite the bank. He purchases Ash’s entire collection, providing enough money to clear his debts and relocate to Florida. Golgo 13 then buys the apartment building from the landlord. As Hewitt approaches the bank, Golgo 13 uses the purchased structure as a vantage point. He eliminates Hewitt with a sniper shot before the resulting debris obscures the view of the surrounding guards. Ash begins his new life in Florida, unaware of the assassination that enabled his departure.
