Ep. 10: Bradley warns the Elric brothers while Hughes investigates Liore and is murdered by Envy.
Bradley visits the hospital to caution the Elric brothers about military dangers before escaping through a window. Edward and Alphonse plan to travel to Dublith to consult their alchemy teacher, Izumi Curtis, regarding the philosopher's stone. They invite Winry to join them, noting that Rush Valley, famous for automail shops, lies along their route. Meanwhile, Hughes examines issues in Liore, the fifth laboratory, and the Ishval civil war. After uncovering a link, he is attacked by Lust. He flees and attempts to call Mustang from a public phone but is shot by Envy, who impersonates Ross and then Gracia. Hughes is posthumously promoted to brigadier general. Mustang later investigates the murder, concluding through Armstrong that a high-ranking military member likely orchestrated the killing.
