Ep. 6: Armstrong escorts Edward and Alphonse to Resembool while pursuing the Crystal Alchemist Tim Marcoh.
During a train journey to Resembool, Armstrong identifies Tim Marcoh, a former state alchemist and doctor from the Ishval civil war. Armstrong reveals that Marcoh conducted biological alchemy research before vanishing at the war's end. The group pursues Marcoh and discovers he was attempting to create the philosopher's stone, achieving an incomplete version. Although initially reluctant, Marcoh provides the Elric brothers with a clue regarding his research data. Upon arriving in Resembool, Winry Rockbell and her grandmother Pinako Rockbell repair Edward’s automail limbs. Edward then uses alchemy to reconstruct Alphonse’s armor from broken pieces. Following these repairs, Edward, Alphonse, and Armstrong depart for Central to locate Marcoh’s research materials.
