Mikochi and Hakumei board an overnight train bound for Lake Kanokan, intending to go fishing. Although rain persists, they attempt angling without success. Following advice from a hedgehog encountered on the train, they switch to tenkara fishing. Mikochi admits to Hakumei that she finds the activity boring. Suddenly, a fish bites the bait but escapes. The hedgehog retrieves the catch, and upon seeing its large size, Mikochi’s perspective on fishing shifts positively.
