Ep. 20: Setsuna's Past Revealed as She Protects the Half-Demon Village from a Mortal Threat

Separated from Towa, Setsuna remembers her upbringing in a half-demon village protected by Shiori, a half bat-demon leader. When the poisonous moth-demon Gaga Gozen attacks the children, Shiori’s powers vanish due to a solar eclipse, rendering her mortal with black hair. Miroku assists in the defense, triggering Setsuna’s latent demon blood. Her enhanced dog-demon abilities allow her to defeat Gonzen instantly. Miroku then knocks Setsuna unconscious using slayer poison and seals her demon blood with a naginata taken from the defeated enemy. After the battle, Shiori restores the village barrier. She instructs Setsuna to live in the outside world, promising to bring back another troubled half-demon, half-human child, which explains why Setsuna initially brought Towa out of the hidden entrance.
