Ep. 42: Hayate reveals his art expertise while Wataru’s confession causes chaos
A flashback reveals Hayate’s parents predicted his debt-running fate. At Sanzenin Mansion, Klaus is shocked when a judge confirms his expensive portrait is fake. Hayate explains his father was an art dealer who used him to swap paintings as a child, allowing him to spot fakes. Nagi, puzzled by Hayate’s lack of weaknesses, plots to find flaws. Meanwhile, Maria, Sakuya, and Isumi discuss their own weaknesses. Hayate and Wataru study German for a Hakuou mathematics exam, with Nagi teaching Wataru. Maria shares background on Isumi, Sakuya, and Wataru. A flashback shows Wataru’s sadness over limited Hakuou Academy seats until Sakuya gave him her enrollment documents. Later, Wataru confesses his love for Isumi, but claims it is a joke, angering Sakuya. Nagi chases Hayate out of jealousy, leading Maria to note his weakness is not understanding female hearts.
