Ep. 14: Mamoru Akasaka investigates a kidnapping in Hinamizawa four years after the dam incident.

Four years ago, young police investigator Mamoru Akasaka arrived in Hinamizawa to investigate the kidnapping of Toshiki Inukai, the grandson of the dam's construction project. He met Oishi, who explained the Dam Project Opposition Committee and the three leading families of Hinamizawa. Disguising himself as a tourist, Akasaka encountered the younger Rika Furude. At the Furude Shrine, Rika mysteriously warned him to return to Tokyo before collapsing and resuming normal behavior. Oishi’s colleague provided intelligence that the committee, led by Sonozaki family head Oryou, had abducted the child. They also dispatched a novice investigator from Tokyo with orders to handle Akasaka if he interfered too much. The next day, Oishi informed Akasaka that the missing child’s wallet and identification were found in the deserted village of Takatsudo, and he agreed to accompany Akasaka there.
