Ep. 17: Satoshi apologizes to Shion and asks her to care for Satoko during the Watanagashi festival.

Satoshi apologizes to Shion, who is pretending to be Mion, and asks her to care for Satoko during the Watanagashi festival. He presumably murders his aunt for abusing Satoko. Shion suspects Satoshi but provides him an alibi when Detective Oishi questions him, revealing she is Mion’s twin sister. Her family finds her and takes her to their estate to face her grandmother. In the underground torture chamber, Shion insults the family by proclaiming her love for Satoshi. Mion orders her to ask for forgiveness to spare Kasai and their uncle. Shion submits and attempts to de-nail herself but can only remove her left pinky nail. Sonozaki henchmen de-nail the rest of her left ring and middle finger nails. The next day, Oishi meets Shion at a toy store, learns Satoshi got the toy for Satoko, and takes her in for questioning. He explains Satoshi went missing and they caught the aunt’s murderer, a cocaine addict.
