Killua ceases his attempts to retrieve the ball from Netero as his killer instincts begin to surface. Anita manages to escape her handlers and launches an attack against Killua. Although he nearly kills her, he spares her life to avoid angering Gon. Meanwhile, Gon fails to successfully take the ball but manages to force Netero to use his left leg and both hands once. Gon considers this outcome satisfactory despite not obtaining the item. This event occurs within the Hunter Exam arc on the date 12/31.
