The mechanical Ginkotsu, a member of the Band of Seven, causes destruction. Inuyasha instructs Shippo to escort Kagome, Miroku, and Sango to safety, staying behind to confront Ginkotsu. Shippo leads the group to a nearby temple. Upon waking from a coma, Kagome notices that the monk Renkotsu has a shard of the Shikon Jewel lodged in his throat, suggesting he is also part of the Band of Seven. After briefly defeating Ginkotsu, Inuyasha rushes to the temple to join the others.
