Kagome goes back to the present to resume her school life. Her grandfather is attacked by an ancient Noh mask that has broken the protective talismans, resulting in his hospitalization. The mask is determined to obtain a physical body. Kagome must defend the shards of the Shikon Jewel from this threat. Sota Higurashi, Kagome's younger brother, brings Inuyasha from the past to help save Kagome.
