An ill nun named Sara Asano plays the flute as Inuyasha and his companions pass her convent. She releases a demonic aura and dies after seeing Inuyasha. Later, a resurrected Sara appears to Sesshomaru, reminding him of their past encounter at her castle where he defended it. She reveals her deep infatuation with him, hoping to gain his interest. Meanwhile, Inuyasha and his group find a woman who is actually Sara in disguise. She wants to be sacrificed to a sea demon to break a curse of ice that has afflicted Miroku and Sango. Inuyasha, Kagome, and Shippo are taken to a shrine. There, Sara successfully steals the Tetsusaiga from Inuyasha while the group is distracted by the curse situation.
