Young fox youkai searching for their parents mistake Shippo for a hero after Inuyasha destroys a demon with Wind Scar. At a village, Shippo meets Mizuki, who assumes he leads the group. The youkai manipulate Shippo to fight a salamander demon, but he avoids the conflict. They later convince him to betray Mizuki, causing him distress. When the salamander demon returns, Shippo defeats it using Biting, a technique where his sharp teeth become weapons. This event marks a significant moment for the young fox youkai as he learns to protect others despite the manipulation he endured from the other fox youkai who sought to use him for their own purposes.
