Kisuke seeks Inuyasha's aid as demons abduct maidens using a controlling golden diadem, forcing survivors into a cave. These demons are heavenly spirits from Journey to the West who followed Tripitaka. Chokyukai, a descendant of Pigsy wearing Sandy's skull necklace, uses a Monkey King-style diadem to bewitch women. He proposes to Kagome, fascinated by her knowledge of his lineage. She becomes enchanted by the diadem and is abducted. Inuyasha and his group devise a plan to distract Chokyukai while locating Kagome. To defeat him, Kagome combines her Sacred Arrow with Miroku's Sacred Sutra, successfully breaking his control and rescuing the captives.
