Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, and Shippo fall into a deadly trap set by Naraku while searching for Kikyo. The group is subjected to illusions reflecting their deepest fears, intended to destroy them. Kagome remains immune to the spell due to her possession of Shikon Jewel shards. Upon finding Kikyo, Kagome encounters hostility and coldness from her counterpart. Instead of helping, Kikyo takes the Shikon Jewel shards from Kagome and gives them to Naraku, furthering the villain's plans against the group.
