While Inuyasha investigates to locate the actual yokai responsible for the attacks, Kagome works to boost Jinenji’s self-esteem through her kindness. Moved by her support, Jinenji ultimately protects Kagome from the true threat. This act of bravery helps him gain the acceptance of the townspeople, resolving the conflict and clearing his name.
