While fleeing with a Shikon Jewel fragment, Tsubaki returns to her former training shrine. She manipulates young priestesses Momiji and Botan into viewing Inuyasha and his group as hostile demons. The priestesses obtain hair samples from Inuyasha and Kagome to construct large dolls resembling them. Inuyasha subsequently destroys these dolls using his Wind Scar technique. This sequence highlights the tension between Tsubaki’s deception and the group’s defensive response to the fabricated threat posed by the shrine’s inhabitants.
