Inuyasha, Kagome, Sango, and Kaede head to the shrine to find Tsubaki. Meanwhile, Miroku and Shippo attempt to persuade Botan and Momiji that Tsubaki is the culprit. Tsubaki has released an oni from the shrine's forbidden tower and absorbed it to gain power. Her new ogre abilities prove formidable until Inuyasha uses the Backlash Wave. After being defeated, Tsubaki loses her eternal beauty when the Shikon Jewel fragment is removed from her.
