Panther demons target Kagome to obtain her Shikon Jewel shards. Sesshomaru meets Toran, the ice panther deva, who recalls the panther king's defeat by Inu no Taisho. Elsewhere, Inuyasha, Miroku, and Sango confront Karan and Shuran, the fire and lightning panther devas. These two distract the trio, enabling Shunran, the floral panther deva, to kidnap Kagome. The group plans to converge at the panther devas' castle to fight and avenge the panther king.
