Kuroro, a two-tailed demon cat, is blamed for the village's misfortune and exiled by faith healer Tesso. Shippo observes a girl named Koume taking Kirara, who is mistaken for Kuroro. After encountering a rat plague, Shippo and Koume locate the real Kuroro. Meanwhile, Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, and Sango uncover that Tesso is a rat demon with illusory powers. Kuroro brings the two groups together to confront and defeat Tesso, clearing his name and restoring peace to the community.
