Scholar Izumo informs Inuyasha and his companions that the snake demon Orochidayu has distributed counterfeit Shikon Jewels to numerous demons. The group discusses the origins of the four souls that form the true Shikon Jewel. Upon reaching an abandoned town, a teenage boy reveals that demons captured his parents the previous night. Orochidayu subsequently arrives accompanied by the demons bearing the fake jewels. Inuyasha and his allies prepare to battle the demon group to stop their threat and resolve the crisis involving the stolen family members.
