Orphan Inori is selected by Kyogetsu, a doll-maker and benefactress, to marry her son under strict conditions. She must remain silent, eat sparingly, and stay motionless, facing torture for any deviation. Inori tolerates this abuse to protect her orphanage until she reaches her breaking point. She ultimately kills Kyogetsu, only to discover that her new husband demands she behave like a doll as well.
