Investigator Norihisa halted an inquiry into Akie’s father’s accident due to the suspect’s prestigious family status, angering Akie’s mother, Azusa Mayama. During the lantern festival, Yuzuki encounters Tsugumi Shibata, who warns her about the dangers of crossing the gate to Hell. Yuzuki contacts Norihisa to help Akie, but Azusa sends a man to assault Akie as revenge. Norihisa arrives in time to stop the attack. Meanwhile, Ai receives her original body as a festival gift and separates from Yuzuki. Believing she is free from her role as Hell Girl, Yuzuki is horrified when Akie vanishes after Azusa sends her to Hell, causing Yuzuki’s eyes to turn red as she screams.
