Ep. 8: Miyagi confronts Shinobu after realizing his past love's death date caused their rift

An anxious Miyagi lies on his sofa, pondering Shinobu-chin's absence and questioning the teenager's sincerity. He realizes he is at the mercy of the boy he chases. After his ex-wife answers the phone, Miyagi understands Shinobu's troubles. He checks his calendar and notices a circled date: the death anniversary of his past love. Days later, Miyagi finds Shinobu with a foreigner at school. Shinobu runs away, prompting Miyagi to chase him in his car while imagining a breakup. Disguised, Miyagi confronts Shinobu and learns the boy's insecurity stems from Miyagi cherishing a photo of his deceased lover. Miyagi drives Shinobu to the grave, confesses his love, asks for forgiveness, and promises to let go of his past.
