Nowaki agrees to greet a professor arriving from America, hoping to see Hiroki, but flight delays cause him to be late. Hiroki waits for hours at a restaurant before leaving, convinced Nowaki no longer loves him. Nowaki arrives just as Hiroki departs, missing him. Miyagi attempts to comfort a soaked Hiroki in his office, but Nowaki interrupts, revealing his frantic rush. Nowaki chases Hiroki to the library, confessing he wanted to be a man Hiroki could be proud of. Hiroki breaks down, admitting his love, and they become intimate. Later, as Nowaki moves in, Hiroki discovers a bag of unposted letters Nowaki refuses to surrender. The episode concludes with Hiroki recalling that he once advised Nowaki to study abroad in America.
