Ep. 3: Shadow of the Moon, the Sea of Shadow - The Third Chapter

The Kiki, youma who previously aided Sugimoto, attack the group, but Yoko repels them with her sword. Asano later reports that he witnessed Keiki transform and seemingly perish. Meanwhile, the King and Kourin discuss the threat of free kaikyaku, ordering their destruction via a dispatched bird. Starving, the three strangers seek shelter at a farmhouse, where they are discovered by the owner, Taiki. Although Sugimoto urges Yoko to kill Taiki, she refuses. Taiki provides food, clothing, and employment, and the group travels to a nearby town. During the journey, Yoko experiences a waking dream in which a man named Aozaru uses masks of her acquaintances to undermine her confidence and beliefs.
