Ep. 6: Yoko Awakens in the Shadow of the Moon Amidst New Realities

King Kou reprimands Kourin for sparing Yoko’s life and exiles Sugimoto to his promised land. Yoko wakes in a cottage cared for by Rakushun, a talking rat who reveals that babies are harvested from trees rather than born naturally. He explains that yokai are respected in En, unlike in Kou, and urges her to travel there. Sugimoto arrives at his estate and is forced to remain despite wanting to return to the castle as the chosen one. Meanwhile, Rakushun provides Yoko with a crude map of the Twelve Kingdoms. As they enter a city, they are attacked by youma and a flock of kochou, prompting Yoko to draw her sword and embrace the combat.
