After Typhon records Q-feuille’s capture, Ascoeur resolves to rescue her. Q-feuille is held by captors who wish to discard her, and she suffers from amnesia. She bonds with Rubis and Saphir, former government assassins rescued from torture by Geacht’er after the Nouvlesse period. During her stay, Q-feuille meets other Shadow Workers and learns her name is Ascoeur, though she retains no personal memories. The name persists in her mind, leading her to write it on her mirror. However, Shade visits the following day and implants false memories, convincing Q-feuille she is Geacht’er’s younger sister. This manipulation causes her to forget Ascoeur entirely, altering her identity and perception of her past.
