Miyuki recruits Hajime to assist the drama club at an island Opera Hotel, where students intend to stage The Phantom of the Opera. Eight members previously quit after Fuyuko Tsukishima, chosen for the lead role, committed suicide by jumping from the roof following facial disfigurement from acid. On the first night of camp, new lead actress Orie Hidaka is killed by a falling chandelier during dinner. Suspicion falls on a mysterious guest named Kagetsu, who arrived earlier while covered in bandages. When Hajime and the others investigate his room, they discover it is empty and find the phrase "Burned in the flames of Hell" written in blood on the wall.
