Ep. 68: Inspector Kenmochi investigates the murder of ikebana artist Koshiro Kirisawa at his hotel

Inspector Kenmochi investigates the stabbing death of Koshiro Kirisawa, a renowned ikebana artist, at the hotel where he is staying. Kenmochi believes he saw a woman commit the crime around 2am, a sighting confirmed by hotel staff. Suspects include Kirisawa’s step-daughters, Beniko and Midoriko, due to potential inheritance disputes involving his fiancée, Akemi Todo. Kenmochi enlists Hajime’s assistance, who deduces the culprit’s identity after examining the scene. Hajime accuses Beniko of the murder, which she admits to, claiming she acted because Kirisawa married their mother shortly after their father’s death. However, Todo reveals that Kirisawa was actually their biological father who had an affair with their mother while she was married. This revelation devastates both sisters, complicating the motive and the case significantly.
