Ep. 4: Zatch Learns of the Mamodo Battle and Kiyo Refuses Sherry's Request

Kiyo recalls Zatch’s past depression over his lightning abilities before seeing the pair interact with children and a dog named Gofure. Brago and Sherry arrive at Kiyo’s home, where Sherry explains that 100 mamodo children fight on Earth to become king, with spell books serving as combat tools that return users to their world if burned. She demands Kiyo burn his book, but he refuses, leading Sherry to cast Reis and warn him of the danger. Zatch overhears this, cries, and leaves. When Kiyo questions Sherry’s motives, she becomes enraged. Finally, a man named Renji appears at the door, revealing that Gofure is his mamodo.
