D'Eon informs the group that Maximilien requires Lia's soul to reincarnate the Royal Psalms. Guercy and the Four Musketeers execute a plan to copy Robert Wood's documents by hosting a dinner party at the French Embassy. Robin steals Wood's briefcase and replaces it with a fake one while Wood is distracted by a mock duel between Teillagory and one of Guercy's servants. Durand and Robin examine the papers, but Robin's hand becomes cursed by a spell on one of the documents. Durand tries to destroy the paper without success and prepares to cut off Robin's hand, but Lia breaks the spell from another room.
