D'Eon struggles to distinguish between Lia's memories and Maximilien's influence. Wood and the Earl of Sandwich discover tampered documents, with Maximilien aiding their plan to capture the Four Musketeers. Durand receives orders from King Louis to kill comrades who read the Royal Psalms and to eliminate D'Eon. Disturbed, Durand leaves the safe house for air and is caught by British soldiers. While D'Eon and others escape, Durand is captured. Whitehead attempts to kill Durand, but Maximilien murders Whitehead instead to take Durand alive. Back at the abbey, Dashwood learns of Whitehead's death.
