Jul 2, 2006D'Eon de Beaumont learns of his sister Lia de Beaumont's murder and joins the French secret police to investigate young women's disappearances. He shares a secret document with his friend Bernis, leading to the police members' deaths and Bernis's abduction. D'Eon is demanded to surrender the document for Bernis's life. Upon reaching the exchange location, he finds Bernis has been turned into a zombie-like creature.

Aug 26, 2006After D'Eon is possessed by Lia's soul and kills Bernis, he awakens with no memory of the event. Sent to the palace to recover, he departs immediately upon waking. Queen Marie assigns her page, Robin, to follow and assist D'Eon. The pair is chased by impostor French police but receives help from a man named Durand. The trio subsequently meets D'Eon's mentor, Teillagory, who joins them and names their group "The Four Musketeers." They then face female zombie-like creatures known as "Gargoyles."

Louis and Broglie disclose a hidden progressive faction backing the French Revolution to D'Eon and his group. They also confirm that Lia died shortly after her mission to Russia as an agent of Le Secret du Roi. D'Eon and his companions accept an invitation to join Le Secret du Roi. Suspecting the innkeeper, they depart quickly, narrowly avoiding a confrontation with Count Cagliostro and Lorenza. These antagonists employ Gargoyles shaped like dogs to track the group. Cagliostro and Lorenza launch another attack, but their efforts are successfully thwarted by Lia, allowing the Musketeers to continue their mission.

Simultaneously, Maximilien Robespierre, Cagliostro, and Lorenza join forces with Grand Chancellor Bestuzhev, who plans to assassinate the Empress. Meanwhile, Durand and Teillagory are forcibly brought before a veiled woman who is aware of the impending assassination plot.

Oct 14, 2006After revealing his true identity, D'Eon earns the trust of Elizaveta, who is revealed to be a former friend of Lia. Both women dedicated themselves to reforming Russia. The Empress permits D'Eon and his companions to arrest Vorontsov, a nobleman once under her command. Bestuzhev and Vorontsov attempt to assassinate the Empress but are thwarted and deceived by D'Eon and his comrades. As a result of the failed plot, Elizaveta arrests Bestuzhev. She then thanks the Four Musketeers for their service in protecting her and maintaining stability within the realm during this critical political crisis.

In a separate event, Maximilien infiltrates a meeting between Elizaveta and her new parliament. He transforms the parliament members into Gargoyles and proceeds to kill Elizaveta successfully.

Teillagory recaptures Pyotr, while Maximilien kills Bestuzhev in front of Durand. Vorontsov engages in a final confrontation with D'Eon during the chaotic aftermath.

Concurrently, Maximilien brings Cagliostro and Lorenza to Medmenham to seek help from Dashwood and Whitehead.

Durand receives orders from King Louis to kill comrades who read the Royal Psalms and to eliminate D'Eon. Disturbed, Durand leaves the safe house for air and is caught by British soldiers. While D'Eon and others escape, Durand is captured. Whitehead attempts to kill Durand, but Maximilien murders Whitehead instead to take Durand alive. Back at the abbey, Dashwood learns of Whitehead's death.
