D'Eon engages in combat with Vorontsov, but Lia is the one who delivers the final blow. Durand and Maximilien confront each other, leading Maximilien to admit he stole the Royal Psalms and was responsible for Lia's previous death. Ekaterina sentences Pyotr to death for his crimes. In France, it is revealed that Marquise de Pompadour and Praslin orchestrated events in Russia, but D'Eon's group has ruined their plans. Hints suggest Pompadour intends to incite rebellion in France. Consequently, the Four Musketeers leave for London to pursue Maximilien.
