Ep. 4: Keitaro's Misunderstanding of Naru's Promise and His Exam Failure
Residents of the Hinata House express disappointment upon discovering Keitaro is a prep school student rather than a Tokyo University attendee, yet allow him to remain as manager provided he performs household chores. Keitaro discovers Naru’s diary and learns of a promise she made years ago to attend Tokyo University, leading him to suspect she might be his own promise girl. Naru catches him reading the diary and reacts with coldness. The promise was actually intended for a man named Seta, though Keitaro remains unaware of this fact. Desiring to make amends, Keitaro attempts to impress Naru during their latest prep school exam. However, upon reviewing his graded paper and seeing he answered the first three questions incorrectly, he mistakenly believes he has failed and flees the apartment.
