Following their entrance exam failures, Keitaro and Naru travel separately to Kyoto for a vacation. Due to broken glasses, they unknowingly share a train seat and spend the day together, each believing they have met a perfect stranger. They are later forced to share a hotel room. Upon retrieving their glasses, they realize they have been with each other the entire time. After a brief argument, they reconcile and decide to continue their sightseeing activities together in the city.
