Keitaro witnesses Motoko Aoyama violently repel friends attempting to flirt with her and her group. Upon returning to the Hinata Apartments, he discovers Motoko in the laundry room and is surprised to learn she serves as the manager. She repeatedly attacks him with a wooden sword, but other residents persuade her to accept his role. Eventually, she ceases her hostility and agrees to recognize him as the manager, marking a shift in their dynamic.
