A truck convoy is ambushed by motorcycles in the American West while Speed wins the Southwest Grand Prix. A fan admires the Mach Five in the garage, revealing his failed attempt to become a professional racer without giving his name. Speed dines with Mr. Skyhigh from the Office of Space Development. In a ghost town, Skyhigh recruits Speed to defend an international space base construction site. Motorcycle Apaches are attacking the crews and equipment. The Mach 5 is required to transport uraniumtane, an element that enhances nuclear missile power beyond that of an H-bomb.
