Ep. 10: Homura’s Alternate Timeline Journey to Save Madoka from Fate

In an alternate timeline, hospitalized Homura befriends cheerful Madoka and is rescued from a witch by magical girls Madoka and Mami. After Madoka and Mami die fighting Walpurgisnacht, Homura contracts with Kyubey to time travel and protect her friend. She joins them, mastering time-stopping combat with firearms and explosives, but later discovers Kyubey’s deception when Madoka becomes a witch. Despite Homura’s warnings, tragedy strikes again as Sayaka turns into a witch and is killed by the remaining magical girls. Mami then attacks Kyouko and aims at Homura, but Madoka stops Mami with lethal force. With their Soul Gems empty, Madoka gives her last Grief Seed to Homura, begging her to return to the past to avoid Kyubey’s lies and asking Homura to kill her before she transforms. Homura returns with a colder demeanor, trying to prevent Kyubey from contacting Madoka and fighting witches alone, but these efforts fail as she continues looping through timelines in a desperate hope to save Madoka.
