Kyoko returns home to care for her sick mother, staying longer than planned and causing Godai concern. During a walk with Soichiro, Godai meets Mr. Ichinose, who shares his own courtship story. Unable to leave due to her mother's insistence, Kyoko fabricates a need for a special pillow. Mrs. Chigusa contacts Maison Ikkoku, prompting Godai to visit in a suit to deliver the item. Kyoko’s parents question him about his identity and occupation. When the topic of romance arises, Godai subtly reveals his love for Kyoko. Her parents miss the hint, but Kyoko understands and feels unexpectedly joyful after he departs.
