General Carter’s true plan to conquer the Netherworld is exposed, prompting Flonne and Etna to flee with Prinnie assistance. Jennifer, brought to see her father, is restrained on a table where Carter installs a brainwashing device. Kurtis recalls a terrorist attack five years ago that killed his wife and daughter while mechanizing most of his body. The group discovers the device on Jennifer, but Kurtis removes it before leaping from the battleship. Celestial hosts subsequently attack Laharl, Flonne, and Etna. Panicked by these events, Carter evacuates to a space vessel, suggesting Vulcanus may be orchestrating the entire scheme.
