Flonne attempts to release a dragon from her staff but collapses weakened without her pendant. Etna finds Laharl to escort him to the castle. Captain Gordon, Jennifer, and Thursday meet the archangel Vulcanus, who seeks the pendant. Etna summons prinnies to prepare lunch for Laharl. Captain Gordon, Jennifer, and Thursday attack the group before Flonne arrives with Vyers to halt a cannon blast. The pendant falls from the sky. Vyers attempts to claim it, but the cliff collapses into a lava pit. Laharl deliberately saves the pendant from falling into the pit.
