Ep. 21: Keaton and Taihei investigate the thistle emblem on a watch and whisky bottle in Edinburgh.

In Edinburgh, Keaton waits for Professor Amada to compare sake and Scotch whisky. He shows Taihei a Scottish antique watch with a thistle coat of arms, originally kept in a Japanese shrine. Keaton researched the National Archives of Scotland, linking the emblem to Strathspey and Angus T. Charmichael, the Lord of Scotch. He recounts Angus’s tragic life during the Reformation, including his orphanage, the death of his lover Ann Macrae, and a shipwreck with servant Fiddich. Keaton also mentions a legend about a sea tengu forbidden to love a merchant’s daughter. Taihei notes the sake bottle has a similar thistle, but Keaton spots a difference in the coat of arms. Amada arrives, implying he is a descendant of Angus.
