Ep. 2: Karl Neumann protects refugees in Leipzig while confronting his past doping scandal.

In Leipzig, former Olympic swimmer Karl Neumann lives in an abandoned building with Yugoslav refugees. He gives his gold medal to a boy named Eliah and defends the group from nationalist skinheads. When the skinheads return, they expose Neumann’s past doping at the 1988 Summer Olympics to beat rival Thomas Wenner. Keaton, who was hired by Wenner to find Neumann, arrives with the refugees to chase the attackers away using icicles. Neumann reveals his muscle fatigue stems from the drugs. Although Wenner arrives, Neumann has already left with Eliah. Eliah falls into the river after dropping the medal, and Neumann dives in to save him. Neumann drowns but is revived by Wenner. He decides to remain with the refugees and builds a snowman with Eliah.
