Keaton’s car breaks down, forcing him to stay overnight at James Kelling’s Arthur Malthus estate in Blackdown. There, he meets board members Eugene Hart, Harold Smith, Pat Campbell, and Oscar Hammer, alongside Frank Miller and Janet Hart. James reveals a past proposal for a tax-exempt holding company in Brunei. Keaton confronts the group about the monkshood poisoning deaths of three former members, suspecting James due to the timing of their promotions. After preventing everyone from drinking Russian tea, James recalls poisoning his brother as a child. Fearing arrest, he escapes through a window and falls to his death from the ridge.
