Sterling Alexander asks Richard to watch his daughters Autumn and Summer before he dies from a disease diagnosed by Dr. Preston. Conan sees Autumn poison wine but is chloroformed. Sterling dies after drinking the wine, leading to Autumn's arrest. Conan finds a hidden camera and wine in a plant, then knocks out Richard to explain that Sterling planned to test his daughters' loyalty. Sterling never drank the poisoned wine but was still killed. Dr. Preston is revealed as the true killer who fabricated the diagnosis and used Sterling's plan against him by injecting a lethal dose. The crime is recorded on camera. Dr. Preston confesses that Sterling caused his father's bankruptcy and suicide, and his mother's subsequent death. Dr. Preston is arrested for murder.
