Conan, Ran, and Kogoro visit Yuyama Morikawa, a dying soft-serve ice cream industry leader, to identify his three sons as inheritance candidates. At the residence, the third son, Yuusaburo Morikawa, is discovered dead in a locked room. The second son, Yujiro Morikawa, previously missing, is also found deceased inside a tank of soft-serve ice cream. The eldest son, Yuichiro Morikawa, expresses fear that he is the next target before retreating to his room. A gunshot interrupts the group's discussion, leading them to Yuichiro's body. Following the sound, Conan encounters chief butler Tomoka Tsukasa. They proceed to a storage room where they discover the weapon believed to have killed Yuichiro.
