A forensic officer notes a missing sock impression on the victim's right ankle, helping Conan identify the killer. He tranquilizes Kogoro, impersonates him, and tricks Meguire into copying the diary. Conan explains that Itakara, while tied up, moved igo pieces with his feet. White pieces were ignored, while black pieces formed Braille kanji pointing to Souma.
