Conan identifies two suspects as jewelry robbers by noting their unfamiliarity with a hijacked car and a smoker’s ashtray filled with coins. After apprehending them, he proceeds to the subway to deposit a CD containing sensitive Black Organization data into a coin locker. Vodka retrieves the disc but is intercepted by Gin, who detects adhesive tape on the CD, indicating an attempt to steal fingerprints. Gin discovers a tracker within the case and determines the setter is nearby by sensing residual heat. Conan hides inside a coin locker but loses consciousness due to oxygen deprivation. He is discovered by Haibara the following day.
